Had a little heads up on this forthcoming event at Rutland Water from the Angling Trust's Regional Officer/East Midlands James Roche... sounds great!
The largest fly fishing participation day in the east midlands is back for 2014. Taking place on Sunday 13th July 2014, the day gives 10-17 year olds the chance to learn more about fly fishing and fish from a boat on the famous Rutland Water with an experienced boat handler.
As well as the fishing itself, participants will receive casting tuition from qualified angling coaches, tackle advice, the chance to tie your own fly & guidance on how to assemble equipment. The entry fee is just £15 which includes tackle hire, fishing permit, boat hire, lunch & Junior membership of Rutland Water Fly Fishers. For the purpose of the event, an Environment Agency rod licence is not required.
Over the past two years over 160 people have taken part in the event which provides a fantastic opportunity to learn all about fly fishing and fish one of the best fisheries in the country.
Unfortunately numbers are limited and places will be offered on a first come first served basis. To book your place visit www.rutlandwaterflyfishers.co.uk/ and complete the relevant application form (or copy and print off forms below). The closing date for applications is 14th June 2014.
