A cracking mirror, just a shame about the hat mate!

A cracking mirror, just a shame about the hat mate!

Nice one Tommy!

Clive Bradley January 13, 2013

It was nice seeing top carper Tommy Duncan-Dunlop showing off a good catch recently, with this great looking mirror that went 28lb 4ozs.

Getting in touch with Tom, he tells me he's trying to do a practice session each week before the start of the British Carp Angling Championships, which begin in April.

It was on an overnighter at Thorney Weir, in the Colne Valley, that this mirror, along with a 22lb common, were tempted onto the bank with Tom using Solar's Top Banana boilies, along with a small PVA bag full of matching pellets.

The rest of his set-up is a 40lb unleaded leader to 15lb Ultima line, fished off his 12' Nash NR XD rods.

Fishing on his own, Tom tells me it was only a single nighter as he had work in the morning… happens to most of us I'm afraid!

Once the championships start I'll try to get Tom to give us a run down on how he gets on... did you hear that mate? lol

On the bank

As you may have guessed, this is a site about our passion... fishing. With a blog on my regular fishing sessions with good mates Gary and Bob, general articles, a few technical bits that might help you, and plenty of general fishing news, tackle reviews, plus up to date reports from the Angling Trust, I hope it will build into an interesting mix of many things 'angling'.
